I finally got a full night's sleep in Nice bed at the Golden Tulip Hotel. Now we are getting ready for our first session on Moroccan History and Culture.
The view outside your window looks amazing, what exactly was shown? What specific things stood out about Moroccan culture and or history to you? Nurse West-Expedition
The tall structure is the Hassan Tower, a minaret of an incomplete mosque that was going to be the largest in the world. They started building it in 1195. The scaffolding around it is a restoration project ongoing at least since I was there a year ago.
Hello Wally, Thanks for the information about the Hassan Tower, I've also noticed your previous posts and I hope to respond to them later today if time permits. Aside from being sick most of the time, my stay in Morocco has been very nice. Even my trip to the doctor and pharmacy was very simple and inexpensive.
Hello Omarion, The most interesting thing about the Moroccan culture is their use of language. They will often switch back a forth from one language to another depending upon the social context of the content. It is very interesting. You should ask Mr. Michell of Mr. Flores what they may know about it. And I will be talking more about it when I return. Enjoy you Spring Break!
